Neighborhood Projects

    Water Facilities

Years ago when the City of Modesto proposed to take over the water service to the Del Rio Neighborhood community, they promised to provide improved water pressure and water flow to all homes. They tried to back out of this promise and the DRPOA, through the very diligent work of Joyce Parker, a long time Del Rio neighborhood resident, pressed the City to honor their commitment. Now the neighborhood has two water tank facilities to provide adequate water pressure to the residences.

    Trees along St. John

In the mid 2000’s, the DRPOA Board, led by George Beach worked out a way to landscape the entire east side of St. John Road to beautify this area since it was a main entry point into the Del Rio Neighborhood Community and the Del Rio Country Club. George worked tirelessly to raise the money to put in all those trees, the water systems to irrigate them, and the landscape bark etc. Del Rio Country Club has invested every year in keeping the water system maintained and to help in any clean up needed on an annual basis. Between Del Rio CC and DRPOA both entities spend the necessary dollars and time to keep this are looking nice.

    Camera System

In 2020, John Vargas and Chris Peterson met to discuss the crime issues that were growing in the Del Rio neighborhood.  The Sheriff, the patrol services, were all attempting to do their part, but it was not enough.  Working with the neighbors and the county, in 2023, the neighborhood was able to install a 4 camera security camera system with remote access managed by the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s department.  This added layer has helped the neighborhood bring professional security aspect into the area.
